Hello, you delicious thing...
You are currently reading the first blog post I've ever written. I hope it's (almost) as thrilling for you as it is for me. I've decided to start blogging about my adventurous, tumultuous relationship with food. I'm a devoted sensualist who was raised to believe that food = love. It also turns out that my sense of wellbeing is radically affected by what I eat. While I probably am more wildly sensitive than most, I can't help but think that people are more affected by their diets than they are informed or experienced enough to realize. Food is also so much more than nutrition: what we eat is an ecological act, a social endeavor, sometimes even a spiritual discipline. Ken Wilber's AQAL framework is equipped to elucidate the often neglected aspects of eating, so this blog will certainly be an integrally-informed exploration. It' s my hope with this blog to offer my own journey to those who are interested. There's such a dizzying pandemonium of theories on nutrition right now that it's difficult to know where to begin feeling better - and it's not my intention to provide yet another one. Rather, I'd like to suggest that we give nutrition its proper due as a massively important part of our lives - and from there, let's experiment, be mindful, and have fun.
